Shopify Rogue Insider Platform Breach (2020)

Shopify is a Canadian e-commerce platform vendor hosting hundreds of thousands of merchant tenants worldwide.

Discovery. The incident surfaced in 2020 after unusual activity was identified in the vendor's environment.

Investigation. External forensics confirmed unauthorised access affecting merchant customer data.

Notification. Downstream customers were notified and required to review their own exposure.
